THE JRVRS Hazaribagh protested with Rasoiyas’ demands in front of the District Deputy Commissioner on 23 February 2019. The dharna was presided over by Shekhar Rai and conducted by Bipin Sinha. Rasoiya Sangh President Geeta mandal and AIPWA State President Savita Singh, and a large number of Rasoiyas and Sanyojikas participated in the dharna. The demands included: speedy resolution of Rasoiyas’ issues; raise in honorarium; government employee status and facilities for Rasoiyas and Sanyojikas; equal pay for equal work; immediate payment of honorarium arrears; reinstatement of Rasoiyas removed from different schools in the State.
The Palamu unit organized a resounding protest on 26 February with a march from Shivaji Maidan culminating in a meeting at the District Education Superintendent’s office where a memorandum was submitted by a delegation including Secretary Sunita Devi, President Aravind Prasad, Treasurer Lalita and other Rasoiya Sangh activists. Talks were held with the District Education Superintendent on the implementation of the 2017 agreement.
A protest was held at Dumka in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on 22 February led by Geeta Mandal on the issue of all the demands of the Rasoiyas.
