Responding to the Protest Day call against the imminent arrest of renowned Dalit-Marxist thinker, social activist, and Head of Department of Big Data Analytics at Goa Institute of Management, protest marches and mass meetings were organised in many cities in Bihar under the banner of the Insaf Manch.
Intellectuals and citizens in Ara organised a march from the CPI (ML) office via Mill Road, Navada Chowk, Karman Tola, Badi Mathiya to Shivganj where it culminated in a meeting. The meeting was presided over by Insaf Manch District President Qayamuddin Ansari. The meeting was attended by advocates and citizens in large numbers.
A protest march and meeting were held from the Polo Maidan in Darbhanga, led by Insaf Manch State Vice President Neyaz Ahmed and Laxman Paswan. Several intellectuals and citizens participated in the march. At Samastipur, the Insaf Manch led a march from the CPI (ML) District Office (Mal Godam Chowk) which culminated in a meeting at the Gandhi Memorial near Station Chowk. In one voice, the speakers demanded the immediate withdrawal of all the false and fabricated charges against Anand Teltumbde. A protest program was also organised at Muzaffarpur. It was on the day of these protests that the shameful attempt to arrest Prof Anand Teltumbde took place.
