IN a united effort of Student-Youth movements, union members and organisations from all across the country, came together to form a Young India National Coordination Committee (YINCC). The constituent members include JNUSU President, FTII Students Union and Alumni, Rajiv Gandhi Central University Student Union- Arunachal Pradesh, AISA, Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle, IIT Madras, MANUU Students Union Hyderabad, Panjab University Student Union, Chandigarh, SFS(Punjab), Aligarh Muslim University Student Union, AMUSU Girl’s College Union- President, Allahabad Student Union – President & Vice President, Rajasthan University –President; All Adivasi Student’s Organisation of Assam, North East Student Forum-Delhi, All Assam Law Students Union, Cotton College Student Union- General Secretary,AIIMS Doctors Union, BHU Movement, Uttarakhand University Student Union- Vice President, Manipur Student Union, CYSS, TISS Student Union Mumbai, S. P. Student Wing, Youth for Swaraj, Samajwadi Yuvajan Sabha, Karbi Student Association, Gujarat Central University Students, Chatra Bharati, RYA, Rozgar Mangey India, HCU Students, NAPM Youth, CRJD, Revolutionary student and youth front(RSYF), Sarvodya Yuva Vahini, Loktantrik Yuva Janta Dal, Young Artist Forum, Yuva JDS and others.
The YINCC held public meeting cum press conference in Press Club of India on 28 December 2019 and released the Young India Charter for 2019 elections. The YINCC has also declared that thousands of youth from all across the country will march on the streets of Delhi on coming 7th February to demand education, jobs and dignity. All forces of student-youth who have faced and fought against the divisive anti-education, anti-youth policies of the Modi government in last five years will flood the streets of Delhi on 7th February and will run a powerful campaign against the betrayals of the government.
Speaking at the press conference, JNUSU President N Sai Balaji said, “Like the Kisans of the country, the youth will now call the bluff out of Modi government. We have been denied our rightful education, dignified employment and when we raised our voice they called our anti-national. In the last five years all of us fought our struggles, now we will unitedly march and challenge the present government.”
Anupam from Youth for Swaraj said, “The way all dignified sources of employment have been diluted in the last five years is unprecedented. The Y4S is wholeheartedly a part of the initiative and will ensure that the Young India Adhikar March will strongly challenge the anti-people policies of the government.”
Avantika from Pinjra Tod said, “By cutting our scholarship, by not providing us hostel, by imposing discriminatory rules, all they are trying to do is to stop us from getting higher education. Women from all over the country have not only fought against discrimination and curfew timing, we are here to demand our right to education.”
Sucheta De from AISA said, “They spent the least on education since independence. 24 lakh government posts are vacant. They wanted BHU to fight against AMU, they wanted unemployed youth to fight amongst each other on religion, they wanted people to hate JNU. That has not happened and that is not happening. Young India will fight back to destroy their conspiracy.”
Hari Om from CYSS said, “The government that should spend on education and employment is giving away benefits to corporate. The youth has presented a Charter that has no place of hate and division. We are together in this fight.”
