Only Communists have that Ideological Weapon which Fascism Fears – Com. Kunal
THE CPI(ML) 9th Gopalganj District conference was organized on 24 November 2018, the martyrdom day of Comrades Umesh Paswan and Manu Kushwaha and began with a Sankalp Sabha. Com. Umesh Paswan and Com. Manu Kushwaha were tireless warriors in the battle against feudalism, beloved leaders for the dignity and rights of the poor, and the architects of the Party’s growth in Gopalganj. They were martyred on 24 November 1997 in the struggle against feudalism. The conference began with flag hoisting by Com. Ramsagar Yadav and a pledge to fulfill the dreams of the martyred comrades.
After garlanding and tributes to the martyrs, the Sankalp Sabha began, presided over by Block Secretary Shriram Kushwaha. The Sabha was addressed by former CPI(ML) MLA Amar Yadav, Siwan District Committee Secretary Naeemuddin Ansari, and other leaders. Attacking the Modi and Nitish governments, Amar Yadav exposed the broken promises and betrayals of the Central and State governments and strongly condemned the increasing attacks on farmers, workers, women, and minorities. He called upon the people to defeat these forces decisively in the coming elections. Comrade Yadav stressed that the communal-fascist forces need to be defeated not only at the polls but also in the fields and factories.
Com. Naeemuddin Ansari recollected Comrade Vinod Mishra’s call to turn Siwan into Bhojpur and Gopalganj into Jehanabad and appealed to the people to work steadily to hand out a resounding defeat to the fascist BJP. The Sankalp Sabha concluded with a pledge to fulfill the dreams of the martyred comrades.
The conference then began in the Umesh Paswan-Manu Kushwaha Hall, presided over by a 5-member Presidium. Inaugurating the conference, Party State Secretary Kunal described the present political and social conditions in detail and underlined the Party’s responsibilities. He said that in the current fascist phase, the role of Communist parties is decisive because only Communists have that ideological weapon which fascism fears. Therefore, the task of building and developing the Party is extremely important. He called for building the Party in a united, disciplined, and ideologically dedicated manner.
Secretary of the outgoing committee Indrajit Chourasiya presented the work report documenting the current political situation, Party activities over the years. A 17-member District committee was elected. The newly elected committee re-elected Com. Indrajit Chourasiya as Secretary. The conference concluded with the resounding slogans and the singing of Internationale.
