THE Insaf Manch organized a convention on 22 November at the Shaheed Mahendra Singh Complex in Bagodar against the escalating direct and indirect attacks on Constitutional rights by BJP governments. Thousands of people attended the convention, which expressed outrage at the anti-people policies of the BJP governments at the Centre and in the State which led to disasters like: attempts to dilute the SC/ST Act by the Modi government; 83 people killed by mob-lynching gangs supported by the ruling powers; 16 starvation deaths in Jharkhand. The convention stated that the Insaf Manch would launch a large-scale movement against the attacks on Constitutional rights of minorities, dalits, and adivasis. A resolution was passed at the convention expressing full support for the para teachers’ struggle for regularization and respectable salary and strongly condemning the brutal lathi charge on para teachers on Jharkhand Foundation Day. The convention demanded the immediate release of the 280 arrested para teachers and withdrawal of the false cases slapped on them, and condemned CM Raghubar Das for calling para teachers (who have been the backbone of education in Jharkhand for the past 15 years) ‘gundas’ and denigrating their rights. The convention was addressed by CPI(ML) Dhanwar MLA Rajkumar Yadav, former Bagodar MLA Vinod Kumar Singh, and several other leaders.
