IN the season when most people are busy with religious rituals, the CPI(ML) is busy raising people’s issues and problems. In this context, Giridih Assembly Constituency in-charge Rajesh Sinha led a delegation to the Electricity Department Executive Engineer and submitted a 5-point memorandum to him. The demands are as follows: i. Regular supply of electricity for 18 to 20 hours. ii. Fixed timings for electricity cuts. Iii. Prior intimation of electricity cuts; and iv. No electricity cuts during evening study hours of students.
The delegation told the officials that just like common people’s electricity connection is cut off when there is a pending bill of Rs 5000-10,000, the same rule should apply to government offices also and connection should be cut off after giving one month’s notice; otherwise, the CPI(ML) will launch a big agitation in December.
During talks with the officials, many issues were discussed, such as electricity wires and transformer problems. The Engineer said that soon these problems would be solved. He said that at present the department was short of supplies at the moment, but he would still try his best to give adequate supply of electricity to the people.
