Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA) organised nationwide protests on December 1 demanding a judicial inquiry into the Sambhal massacre, action against culpable police officers, and an investigation into Adani's corruption. Demonstrations were held across various states under the call for justice and accountability.
Addressing a protest march in Begusarai in Bihar, RYA General Secretary Neeraj Kumar said, “We are at a critical juncture in our country’s history. The Modi government’s divisive and anti-people politics has weakened the democratic fabric and constitutional foundations of our society. This regime thrives on crony capitalism and communal polarisation, undermining social unity and democracy.”
Neeraj Kumar highlighted the Sambhal massacre as a chilling example of state brutality, where five unarmed youths were gunned down by the police. “The silence of the government reflects its cruelty and disregard for constitutional responsibilities. Instead of protecting citizens, the police, emboldened by state support, are violating human rights with impunity,” he added.
RYA National President Aftab Alam, speaking at a protest in Muzaffarpur, said, “When the government suppresses dissent, silences opposition in Parliament, and uses law enforcement to crush protests, it is clear that democracy is under attack. This is not just a fight against corruption but a battle to defend our democratic traditions, constitution, and social harmony.”
RYA leaders called for united action against the communal-capitalist nexus, urging youth across the country to rise against injustice and exploitation. The organisation demanded justice for the victims of the Sambhal massacre, accountability for corrupt practices, and a renewed commitment to democracy and equality.
These protests mark a strong response to a government accused of serving corporate interests while neglecting its responsibility to uphold justice and constitutional values.
