The All-India Students’ Association (AISA) organised a Anti-Fascist march at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on the night of September 28, commemorating the 117th birth anniversary of revolutionary Bhagat Singh and the 33rd martyrdom of Shankar Guha Niyogi. The march drew a diverse crowd of students, activists, and supporters, united in their demand to stand against fascism and protect the rights of marginalised communities.
Carrying banners and shouting slogans, participants asserted their commitment to defending the rights of the poor, marginalised, and oppressed. The atmosphere was charged with the clarion calls emphasising the urgent need to resist the rising tide of fascism and corporate exploitation that threatens the very fabric of Indian society.
The Anti-fascist march resolved to intensify their struggle with the following aims:
- In defence of rights of the poor, the marginalised and the oppressed.
- Say no to corporate loot of Jal, Jangal, Jameen (Water-Forests-Land).
- Ensure women safety, From home to university to the workplace.
- Say no to Mob lynching and bulldozer raj.
- Free all political prisoners.
- End the atrocities against Adivasis, Dalits, Muslims, women's and all marginalised.
The event concluded with a revolutionary tribute to Bhagat Singh and Shankar Guha Niyogi, both of whom are celebrated for their unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and the rights of the oppressed. AISA reiterated that their legacy continues to inspire the fight against oppression and exploitation in contemporary India.
