A memorial meeting was organized at the IMA Hall in Patna on 14 June 2022 to pay tribute to six-time MLA in Bihar and renowned Communist leader Comrade Ramdev Verma who passed away on 22 May 2022. The memorial meeting was attended by CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, RJD leader Alok Mehta, CPIM leader Arun Mishra, AIKM General Secretary Rajaram Singh, former MP Rameshwar Prasad, KD Yadav, AIPWA leaders Meena Tiwari, Shashi Yadav, MLAs Sudama Prasad, Manoj Manzil, Sandeep Saurabh, Mahanand Singh, Virendra Prasad Gupta, Amarjeet Kushwaha, Gopal Ravidas, Comrade Ramdev Verma's wife and former MLA Manju Prakash and hundreds of party activists. The meeting was conducted by Politburo member Dhirendra Jha.
Leaders addressing the meeting said that Comrade Ramdev Verma led countless struggles for land, wages and dignity of dalits and oppressed people. He also set an example as a revolutionary people's representative. He was a leading Communist warrior who fought for people's issues inside the Assembly, on the streets and in the fields. The failure of the 3-tier Panchayati Raj system in Bihar and the deepening agrarian crisis were his area of study on which he wanted to write a book. He worked tirelessly for the people and the onus to fulfill his vision for Bihar and India is now on our shoulders. CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said that his legacy will inspire us to organize and carry forward the struggles of these difficult times.
