CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said on 27 February 2022 that the membership of Bisphi (Madhubani) BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur, who made an anti-constitutional and venom-spewing statement advocating cancellation of Muslims' voting rights, should be immediately revoked. The CPIML also raised this issue during the ongoing Bihar Assembly session.
Comrade Kunal said that RSS-BJP people are constantly engaged in creating a hate-filled atmosphere against the minority community across the country. The latest example of this is the recent mob lynching of Khaleel Rizvi in Samastipur. Muslim women are being targeted across the country under the pretext of hijab. Recently in Bihar also a Muslim woman was harassed under the pretext of hijab.
RSS-BJP would do well to remember that Hindus and Muslims have had equal participation in the country's freedom movement. Our country will never accept such attacks on our tradition of shared martyrdoms and shared heritage. If anyone has had no contribution to the country's freedom movement, it is the RSS which from its very inception has held the theory of two separate nations for Hindus and Muslims.
The Constitution of India gives equal rights to each and every Indian citizen regardless of their religion, caste, gender or language, therefore to speak of cancelling Muslims' voting rights is nothing short of an attack on the Constitution.
