CPIML Bihar Secretary Kunal issued a statement strongly condemning the erasure of the word 'Bihar' written in Urdu on the Bihar emblem on the Ashoka pillar in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha. He said that this is a well-calculated move by the BJP to attack the essence of secularism.
He said that Vijay Sinha who has become the Speaker in the Bihar Assembly from the BJP quota has no right to tamper with the Bihar emblem in any way whatsoever. One portion of the emblem has been removed in which 'Bihar' is written in Urdu. Thus an attempt is being made at BJP-ization of the symbol.
Comrade Kunal said that the Swastik sign is also depicted in the emblem, but this was also a state emblem for Hitler the fascist. Our demand is that either the old emblem should be used or it should be replaced by the Ashoka Chakra.
