Addressing the memorial meeting, Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya said that Comrade Pawan Sharma has left us after paving the way for future struggles. We must take his legacy forward into the next phase. He started his work in the era when the poor of Bihar were victims of feudal atrocities. As Bihar witnessed the maximum repression and atrocities, the yearning for liberation was also strongest here. Thousands of people like Comrade Pawan Sharma came forward with the resolve to build a strong communist party to organize the poor and gave shape to their dreams.

Today other dangers loom large in front of us.

The BJP is serving poison in the name of 'Amrit Kal' (Immortal Era). Relentless attacks are being made on freedom, democracy and people's rights. In these times the path shown by Pawan Ji will light our way. What we need to learn from Pawan Ji is that dreams of big change can be made possible through small struggles. The red flag must be strengthened if we want to strengthen democracy in the country. Today we resolve to fight strongly against the new dangers of this era, to strengthen the red flag and to push back regressive forces like the RSS.

Former MLA Rajaram Singh said that Pawan Ji was one of the first generation builders of the party and will always remain a source of inspiration for us. CPI leader Ramnaresh Pandey said that the best tribute to Pawan Ji would be to build a strong and effective Left. Comrade Pawan Sharma's daughter Manju Sharma spoke about her father's role in the movement for social change and said that it was his teaching that kindled in us, his family members, the spark to fight for the rights of the poor. Former State Committee member gave a brief introduction to Comrade Pawan Sharma's life and work.

Activists from various Districts including Nalanda, Jehanabad, Gaya and Patna and all the Districts where Comrade Pawan Sharma had done party work attended the memorial meeting.
