Many seriously ill patients like Comrade Manoj Jha are losing their lives due to the abysmal mismanagement of the Nitish government.
CPIML Rahika Block Committee member and Kisan Mahasabha District Vice President Comrade Manoj Jha lost his battle with Covid at 11 pm on 28 April 2021. He was 50 years old and passed away at Sakri while he was being brought from the Rampatti Covid Care Centre to to DMCH Darbhanga. He had been admitted to Rampatti Covid Care Centre after experiencing difficulty in breathing on 26 April.
Comrade Manoj's death has exposed the government negligence at Covid Care centres. It should be noted that there are 6 ventilator beds at Rampatti Covid Care Centre but all of them are not functional due to shortage of doctors, there being only one doctor there. A single doctor cannot keep 6 ventilator beds functioning 24x7. Therefore, seriously ill patients are sent to Darbhanga and since this takes time, the patient usually dies. This means in no uncertain terms that though arrangements are available at Rampatti Covid Care Centre, critical patients are dying due to shortage of doctors.
