Obituary

Comrade Zafar Javed, resident of Gopalganj and 62 years old, passed away on 8 May 2021 at a private hospital in Patna. Covid-19 snatched him away from us.

Comrade Zafar was associated with the party from his student days. Later he joined in the police department. He was employed in Mirganj Thana at Gopalganj. He rose to the rank of DSP and retired two years ago. His image was that of a fearless, committed and pro-people officer.

Covid-19 hit us with another unbearable blow with the demise of Comrade Parshuram Singh.

92 year old Comrade Mohd Umardaraz passed away on 3 May 2021. He had been admitted to Danapur Railway Hospital on 25 April with fever and breathing difficulty. When his condition did not improve he was shifted to the Super Speciality Railway Hospital at Karbigahiya, Patna Junction. On 1 May. But here also his condition continued to deteriorate and he breathed his last at 4.30 pm on 4 May. His RT-PCR Test could not get done. His oxygen level fell consistently and he could not be saved.

Senior Communist leader from Gujarat and member of CPIML State leading team and AICCTU National Executive, Comrade Lakshmanbhai Patanwadia passed away on the morning of 4 May 2021 at a hospital in Ahmedabad. Three days ago he tested positive for Covid and was undergoing treatment at the hospital since then.

Comrade Patanwadia was a strong voice in Gujarat against communal fascism. His demise is an irreparable loss to the revolutionary people's movement in Gujarat.

Many seriously ill patients like Comrade Manoj Jha are losing their lives due to the abysmal mismanagement of the Nitish government.

The CPIML is shocked and grief-stricken at the sudden demise of Comrade Bindeshwari Sharma, age 62 years, CPIML Purnea District Committee member, on 4 May 2021 after suffering from from chest pain early in the morning.

Senior CPIML leader 75 year old Prof Birendra Prasad Singh passed away on 21 April 2021 at his home in Gobarsahi, Muzaffarpur. He had been ailing for some days. Comrade Birendra Prasad was an ideal and an inspiration for many of us. He will continue to remain our guide and inspiration through his dedication to service of the people, his revolutionary Communist ideology and actions. CPIML is profoundly grieved at the sudden death of AIPF leader and leader of the education movement Ambarish Rai.

Comrade Ambarish Rai fallen a victim of Covid19 and the Oxygen crisis in Delhi. We have fond memories of working with him in the Indian People's Front, AICCTU and CPIML in the 1990s and in recent years again in the All India People's Forum.

CPIML leader in Bhagalpur and AIPWA district President Usha Sharma passed away on 23 April 2021. She had undergone intestinal surgery this week and her condition was improving, but suddenly she succumbed to intestinal infection, liver cirrhosis and multiple organ failure. We lost a great friend and comrade in her. Her last remains were kept in Patna at comrade Arun Singh’s official residence where party members bade her farewell. She was cremated in Patna the next day.
