Obituary: Comrade Shanti Devi

Shanti Devi, life partner of Comrade Mahendra Singh and mother of Bagodar MLA Comrade Vinod, passed away on 16 January 2022. She passed away on Comrade Mahendra’s martyrdom day. Comrade Shanti Devi had been ailing for some time and had been admitted in the Bokaro District Hospital. When the CPIML was underground, Comrade Shanti had opened her home to the party to serve as a centre for revolutionary activities and a shelter for Comrade Vinod Mishra and other party leaders.

Adieu, Comrade Puneet Sahni

Comrade Puneet Sahni, CPIML senior comrade from Eastern Champaran, passed away at 1 pm on 22 December 2021 during treatment at a hospital in Motihari. He was 72 years old and suffered from asthma. Comrade Puneet Sahni was born in Jhitkahia village, Motihari Block, Eastern Champaran District, in a lower middle class family. He was a farmer by profession.

Comrade Ramkishan


To the great shock of the entire trade union movement in Delhi, the health workers movement and CPIML comrades all over India,  Comrade Ramkishan, All India Vice President of AICCTU and General Secretary of All India Health Employees and Workers Confederation (AIHEWC), suddenly passed away on 17 August 2021 while on a morning walk near his home in Sriniwas Puri, Delhi due to massive heart attack at the age of 72.

Comrade Chandreshwar Prasad Rai


Veteran leader of State Govt employees' movement in Bihar and Jharkhand and CPIML Hazaribag District committee member Comrade Chandreshwar Prasad Rai, 76, passed away on 24 August. He suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. We mourn this unfortunate loss and pay our condolences to his bereaved family, friends and comrades.

Adieu, Comrade Allauddin Shastri!


Senior CPIML leader from Pilibhit Comrade Allauddin Shastri passed away on 22 May 2021 in Lucknow. He was 89 and undergoing treatment for the past 2 months at the Lucknow Medical College. Comrade Allauddin Shastri was one of the pillars of the party in Pilibhit. His demise caused an immense loss. He has left with us a rich legacy of peoples struggles.

Adieu, Comrade Bachha Singh!


Comrade Bachha Singh, 80, of Sikti (Mashrak, Saran) in Bihar passed away on 11 May due to Covid. He was a comrade with a lifelong dedication to the party, the poor, and the working class. Even while working as a Survey Inspector in Dhanbad (Jharkhand) he remain dedicated for the party and the workers' movement. The demise of Comrade Bachha Singh is an irreparable loss to the party. The entire party stands in solidarity with the bereft family in this hour of sorrow.
