CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya strongly condemned the incident of brutal beating by Bihar police of an innocent Imam, Mohammad Firoz, of Kataiya in Madhubani and called this another dangerous signal of ongoing BJP-isation of the police in the state. The youth Imam was beaten up during a vehicle check, for which police’s job is to charge a fine or seize the vehicle if law permits it. But the physical assault made was completely illegal bearing communally biased intentions.
Such goondaism under the police uniform signify terror and anti-Muslim communal mindset of police which must be cause for worry for all justice loving people in the society. Comrade Dipankar called upon all citizens to raise a united voice against this, and other similar incidents, which are a product of the politics of hatred and fear.
