CPIML Rajasthan State Conference Held in Jaipur

The two day state conference of CPIML concluded in Jaipur on June 9 with the clarion call to strengthen the mass movements on the basic questions of lives and livelihood and ensure defeat of Sangh-BJP in upcoming elections in Rajasthan. A 25 member state committee was elected with Com. Shankarlal Chowdhary as the new state secretary.

Central observer for the conference comrade Sanjay Sharma while addressing the conference said that the fascist forces in the country have unleashed the brutal assault on people's rights and constitutional rights. These rights are the result of a long standing and continuous struggle, in which many became martyrs. Today, all sections of the society have to come together to halt the fascist barbarism that we are witnessing today.

An open session of the state conference was addressed by the leaders of fraternal parties like CPI(M), CPI, MCPI (United) along with guests from several democratic organisations. The open session was presided over by Com. Phulchand Dheva, Central Committee member of CPIML and leader of AIKM, who in his presidential address said that BJP-RSS want to build an India on Golwalkar's ideas of hatred but we all must resist this and strengthen our struggle for India of Bhagat Singh-Ambedkar's ideas.

CPI State Secretary Com. Narendra Acharya said that freedom of expression is under constant attack and unity is the need of the hour to protect democracy and constitution. Com. Mahendra Neh of MCPI (United) said that the Left parties will have to play a crucial role in stopping the Sangh-BJP’s attack on the people and their livelihood. The corporate plunder and BJP’s fascist machine have to be stopped and people’s movement is the way forward. CPM leader Com. Sumitra Chopra said that the wrestler’s movement shows us what kind of government we have in power today. The Modi government openly protects the accused and tries to demonise the justice seeking women wrestlers. We all must stand with the struggle for gender justice and resist fascist onslaught that is being unleashed upon workers, farmers, women and children. Kavita Srivastava from PUCL said that the forces which are raising the issue of Hindu Rashtra today have instilled communal thoughts in the minds of common people. We must strengthen our ideological struggle against communalism. CPIML Politburo member Com. Prabhat Chowdhary said to help the capitalists, the fascist forces are continuously attacking the workers and farmers. We have history as evidence, the regressive and fascist forces will crumble at the united resistance and people’s movements. As we approach Rajasthan Elections and also 2024 General Elections, let’s resolve and intensify the struggle for liberty equality and solidarity.

The conference was attended by about hundred delegates and observers. The work report presented by comrade Shankarlal Chaudhary was discussed and deliberated and was passed unanimously. The conference was concluded with the address by senior leader comrade Mahendra Singh who called for more intense ideological and political work at the grassroots to counter fascist forces and their fake propaganda and to protect the rights of oppressed and poor sections of society. He also called for bigger initiatives and solidarity with the ongoing struggles against fascism by taking along various political forces to defeat BJP in next elections.

The conference was concluded with the passing of several political resolutions that including many burning issues of the people.
