Addressing the rally, Dipankar Bhattacharya said that the country is going through a very difficult period. Instead of addressing the economic recession, the BJP is milking the Mandir issue. The Supreme Court acknowledged that installation of the idol secretly in 1949 and demolition of the mosque in 1992 were criminal acts, but till date no punishment has been given to the perpetrators. Comrade Dipankar spoke in detail about the lockdown and murder of democracy in Kashmir, NRC in Assam and its imminent imposition in the rest of the country. He said that in these times of recession created by demonetization the people are clearly demanding education and jobs, hospitals and health care, right to food and social security, not temples or communal divisions. He appealed to the people not to get diverted from the real issues and to stand united in the coming Assembly elections in Tarari, Agiaon, Jagdishpur, Sandesh, Ara and other constituencies.

The delegate sessions were held for two days where on 15 November a 53-member district committee was elected unanimously which elected comrade Jawaharlal Yadav as the District Secretary. The Conference was concluded with the singing of Internationale by CPIML MLA comrade Sudama Prasad.
