AIARLA organized a protest at Lalganj in Azamgarh on 24 September 2019 on the issues of land and housing for the landless and homeless, a national register for the landless and homeless rural poor, and against the eviction of the poor from their ancestral lands and homes. A large number of rural workers and women participated in the dharna. Addressing the meeting, All India Kisan Mahasabha State President Comrade Jaiprakash Narayan said that the Modi government has pushed the country into a grave economic crisis; public sector undertakings are being corporatized and privatized and workers are losing their jobs on a large scale. Moreover, the government has also launched an all-out attack on the federal structure of the Constitution, workers’ and citizens’ rights and on minorities, dalits, adivasis and women. One crore people have been caged in Kashmir. The attempt is on to render lakhs of people stateless in the name of NRC. The present government has created a grave crisis for the country’s democracy and Constitution.

CPIML leader Om Prakash Singh said that as Parliament remains silent at this crucial hour, we must come out on the streets to protect the Constitution, democracy, and our rights. The meeting was presided over by AIARLA leader Indrajit and conducted by Basant, and was also addressed by CPM leader Jiyalal, CPI leaders B Ram and Panchdev Rahi, and Ramchandra, Haricharan Ram, Vinod Singh, Sudarshan and others. At the conclusion of the dharna, a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister was submitted to SDM Lalganj.
