Activists of AISA and SFI in HCU have been arrested by Telangana police for the 'crime' of screening ‘Ram Ke Naam’ (In The Name of God) – an award-winning documentary by Anand Patwardhan, which took a close look at the communal campaign against the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya. The documentary has even been screened on Doordarshan following a Court order.

The Dean of HCU abruptly cancelled the permission today for screening of the movie in the new seminar hall. When the screening was shifted to Sociology department, the police forcibly stopped the screening and arrested the students – Comrades Bawajan, Sonal, Nikhil, Vikash Kumar, Vikash Raj of AISA and Arif of SFI.

This is a chilling reminder of the treatment meted out to Rohith and his comrades when they tried to screen Muzaffarnagar Baki Hai.

The government run by fake news, hate mongering and sold out media propaganda is afraid of documentaries that show how their hate machinery works.
