A District level CPI(ML) activists’ conference was held at Barwadih in Jharkhand on 24 October 2018 on the drought and other people’s issues and for asserting the political claims of the poor and weaker sections of society. State Secretary Janardan Prasad addressed the convention.

The convention began with tributes to martyred comrades and a revolutionary song presented by Com. Dhiraj Kumar. Addressing the conference, Janardan Prasad said that the BJP government is proven to be a government of lies and loot. Modi talks of the poor in his speeches, but all his actions cater to the benefit and profit of Ambani, Adani and other corporate houses. ‘Development for all, with all’ (‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’) has proved to be a treacherous deception; ‘development’ has been only for the rich. Demonetization did not bring back black money but was a conspiracy to launder the BJP’s black money and convert it into white money. Modi has proved to be complicit in the Rafale scam and is leaving no stone unturned to protect all scamsters and looters. All policies of this government are anti-poor policies, and the poor have suffered maximum oppression in this regime. They want to change the Constitution of India and replace it with a Manuvadi Constitution. The need of the hour, therefore, is to strengthen village committees and campaign with the slogan ‘Oust BJP, Save the Constitution’, and thus strengthen the CPI(ML).

District Secretary Com. Birju Ram said that the CPI(ML)’s struggles are becoming synonymous with the struggles of the poor. Therefore, we have to fight against famine, drought, and corruption and assert for the cause of the people in Assembly constituencies. This time the present MLA, a corrupt thief and looter, must be shown the door and thrown out. It was decided to hold meetings in all blocks with the slogan ‘Oust BJP, Save Constitution’.
