seminar

THE CPI (ML) organized a seminar on Marxism and our Times in Beguserai on 28 August 2018 to mark the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx.

Addressing the seminar CPI(ML) General Secretary Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya said that if we look into the mirror of Marxist ideology we will find that struggle against caste is also a class struggle, just as struggle against economic oppression is a class struggle. He said that whenever we take Marxist ideology to the midst of people, the ruling class will try its best to stop us because social change puts in danger their power over the oppressed. He said that it is irrelevant whether Marx was a foreigner or not; what matters is that his ideology is relevant to our country as well as to so many other countries. To those who want equality, freedom, and justice in India, Marx is a friend of India. It was from Marx that Bhagat Singh drew inspiration and it was Marx that he read in his last days before going gladly to the gallows rather than surrendering to colonial British powers. Comrade Dipankar said that Left unity is a powerful weapon in current times when we have to fight fascist forces and save our democracy.

Communists fight today’s battles to secure a better tomorrow. He said that the farmers, workers, students, youth, and democratic forces would fight together to defeat the fascist forces and save the country and our democracy.
The seminar was also addressed by PB member and kisan leader Rajaram Singh, SN Azad, Prof Bodhan Prasad Singh, Baiju Singh, Amarnath Singh (IPPTA), Shailendra Singh, Deepak Sinha (JSM), Kunwar Kanhaiya, Noor Alam, Watan Kumar (AISA), Mobassir Alam, (RYA), Zeeshan Ali, Abhshek Anand and others. The seminar was presided over by Prof Bhagwan Prasad Sinha and conducted by District Secretary Diwakar Kumar.
