Tribute Paid to Friedrich Engels and Saroj Dutt on their Death Anniversaries

A meet was organized in Patna to pay tribute to the great leader of the world working class movement Friedrich Engels and to the great leader of the Naxalbari movement and intellectual revolutionary Com. Saroj Dutt. Engels died on 5 August 1985 at the age of 74. Naxalbari movement leader and revolutionary Com. Saroj Dutt was killed by the police on the night of 4 August 1971 after first arresting him. CPI(ML) Bihar State Secretary Kunal paid tribute to both leaders on behalf of the Party.
Comrade Kunal said that today when fascist forces led by the BJP-RSS are bent on destroying the nation and are particularly targeting the workers, farmers, dalits and weaker sections, the ideology of Marx and Engels will prove to be our strongest weapons in the fight against fascist forces for democracy and social change. He said Com. Saroj Dutt is a leader from that generation of people who sacrificed themselves for the spread of the Naxalbari movement and for a new India. It is indeed an irony that the rulers of our country did not even make the pretense of a trial for Com. Saroj Dutt but killed him straight away after arresting him. Com. Saroj Dutt died the death of the brave while carrying forward the Naxalbari movement. Today, when there is once again an undeclared emergency in the country and voices of dissent are being killed just as in the 70s, we resolve to strongly carry forward the ideology and tradition of Engels and Com. Saroj Dutt and deal a decisive defeat to the fascist forces.
