AICCTU Opposes 30% Wage Cut During Lockdown in Pricol, Coimbatore

VIOLATING the government advisories and guidelines the Pricol Managment in Coimbatore has deducted 30% of the workers’ wages from March to July during Lockdown period through a one-sided circular. The All India Central Council of Trade Unions has critisised this act saying the Pricol Management cannot invoke No work no pay principle. A March 29 central Govt order makes it clear that deduction of wages during the lockdown will be construed as a legal offence.

AICCTU condemns central govt. order of Freezing D.A to the Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to the Pensioners till July 2021. Demands Withdrawal of the Order

THE Finance Ministry in its order dated 23rd April 2020 has stopped D.A (Dearness Allowance) payable to the Central Government employees and also Dearness Relief to its pensioners @4% from January 2020 till July 2021. It is not only that Dearness allowance and relief to Pensioners due from1st January 2020 is impounded but also that DA and Dearness relief from 1st July 2020 and 1st January 2021 shall also not be paid. Also, no arrears for the period from 1st January 2020 till 30th June 2021 shall be paid.

10th All India Conference Of AICCTU Concludes

10th All India Conference of AICCTU Calls for series of Intense Struggles Against Modi BJP Government and for withdrawal of Anti-worker Labour Codes!

A successful three-day conference of AICCTU concluded on 4th March, 2020  at Naihati, West Bengal which saw a participation of around 600 delegates from all over the country. The Conference elected a National council of 187 members, a Central Working Committee (CWC) a Committee of office bearers.

Construction Workers Observe All India Protest Day

UNIONS affiliated to AICCTU organized protests at various District Labor Offices in Delhi on 20 November 2019. These protests as well as similar protests across the country were in response to the All India Protest Day called by All India Construction Workers Federation (AICWF) against the amending of labor laws by the Modi government, against rampant unemployment and skyrocketing prices, and against the communal venom being spread by the RSS-BJP.

Coal Workers’ Historic Strike

COAL workers organized a strike on 24 September 2019 against 100% FDI in the coal industry and other demands. The strike at all subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL) was in response to the joint call by CMWU (AICCTU), CITU, AITUC, INTUC, and HMS. The ruling party BJP-affiliated BMS, being an obstruction to the current workers’ struggle, was excluded from the strike but they called for a face-saving strike on 23 September which received a very poor response from the workers.

National Convention of Workers : Calls for Country-wide General Strike On 8th January, 2020

AICCTU Mass Convention in Lucknow

NORTH Eastern Railway Workers Union and the AICCTU Lucknow unit organized a mass convention in Lucknow on 15 September 2019 against privatization, corporatization, New Pension Scheme and amendments to Labour Laws. The main speaker, Rail Mazdoor leader and Front against New Pension Scheme in Railways (FANPSR) National President Amrik Singh said that the Modi government wants to hand over all public sector units like railways, banks, insurance and oil to corporate houses.
