CPIML strongly condemns the Sedition cases filed by the Manipur government on July 8 against a fact-finding team led by Com. Annie Raja and members of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW). The fact-finding team in a press conference has noted that the divisive policies of BJP led Central and State government has led to civil war like situation in Manipur. The team also said violence in the state was sponsored by “the ruling dispensation at the state and Centre to precipitate a full-blown civil war-like situation.”

Despite attempts by opposition parties in Assam to put forward their views and concerns to Election Commission of India regarding the delimitation exercise, the Commission has refused to provide any hearing. Calling the move as undemocratic and unconstitutional, Com. Bibek Das, CPIML Assam state secretary said that people of Assam oppose the delimitation exercise, which is based on the 2001 census.

CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal has said that the government has complicated the teachers' rules badly giving way to many apprehensions. In place of satisfying the agitating teachers, they were subjected to barbaric lathicharge which is condemnable. The Mahagathbandhan government cannot adopt the path of repression in this way. The CPIML condemns the lathicharge on teachers aspiring for regular appointments.

Uniform Civil Code Unacceptable: It is a ploy to finish diversity, impose uniformity

The General Secretary of CPI(ML) Dipankar Bhattacharya has said that the meeting in Patna of the opposition parties is a welcome step in the right direction. The 11th Congress of the CPI(ML) held in Patna in February this year had mooted the idea of a broad unity of the opposition, which has found resonance and expansion in this meeting.

CPIML strongly condemns the fabricated charges filed against Prof. Haragopal, Prof. Padmaja Shaw and 150 others under sedition and UAPA by Telangana Police. The charges are an attempt to throttle democratic dissenting voices that speak against the unjust and anti-people policies.

Condemning the notice issued to CPIML State Committee member of Uttar Pradesh Com. Arjun Lal under Gunda Act, CPIML has noted that the Yogi government is attempting to intimidate and target people who are fighting for justice and rights.

The CPIML has extended full support and solidarity with the people in Maharashtra struggling against the Barsu-Solgaon Panchkoshi Refinery project where forced land acquisition on a large scale is imminent, for a project that will greatly devastate environment and forests in very sensitive Konkan region. 

The CPIML has criticised the misuse of National Security Act (NSA) and curtailing democratic freedom on the pretext of action against the Vaaris Punjab De head and Khalistan proponent Amritpal Singh and his supporters in Punjab.

CPIML has condemned the Bhagwant Mann- AAP led Punjab government's decision to invoke draconian National Security Act against youths arrested in connection to crackdown on radical outfit Waris Punjab De. The party also has raised serious concerns regarding the failure of the government to arrest the outfits leader Amritpal Singh despite massive police operation and clampdown on internet services across Punjab. Instead the Punjab government is playing into Modi government’s  divisive ploy.

The CPIML has strongly condemned the recent change made by Yogi Government in the purchases of lands of dalits and scheduled tribes which will lead to properties of SC and SCs more vulnerable to the land mafia. Under the new township policy, the earlier requirement of approval from the District Magistrate in cases of lands of SCs/STs being purchased by non-dalits has been removed. This is done to satisfy vested interests of big corporates and land mafia.
