Bihar Shelter Home Case Accused Sentenced by Court

ON 11 February 2020 the accused persons including the main accused Brajesh Thakur in the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home case were sentenced. AIPWA has called this a victory of justice and said this victory was made possible by the long struggle carried on by the women of Bihar and the Shelter Home girls standing firm in their statements despite all kinds of threats. However, the police, CBI and government have saved the political protectors in this case from being exposed. AIPWA will continue the fight to bring them to justice in the coming days.

Budget 2020-21: No Relief from Economic Crisis

BUDGET 2020-21 continues with the Modi Government’s disastrous policies, and has no relief to offer people reeling under unemployment, price rise, agricultural distress and crashing wages.

By the Budget documents' own admission, the percentage of casual labour in total employment has decreased. This at a time when BJP government was trying to casualise the workforce! This is an indication of dire employment scenario. 'Self employed' labour remains 50% as was in 2011, eight years back - also indicating rising unemployment.
