DTC Workers Campaign in Punjab to Expose Delhi CM's False Promises

Disappointed and angry at the Delhi government's turning a deaf ear to their demands, DTC workers organized a 'Pol Khol' campaign to expose the Delhi Chief Minister's false promises. The campaign was led by the DTC Workers Unity Centre affiliated to AICCTU. The campaign lasted 4 days and proceeded through Patiala, Sunam, Ferozepur, Husainiwala, Amritsar and other places to conclude in a press conference at Mohali on 16 February. The campaign made the common people of Punjab aware of the Delhi CM's broken promises and betrayal of workers.

Jaipur: Demand for Civic Amenities in Workers’ Colonies

Labour organization AICCTU and women's organization AIPWA organized a march on 16 February 2022 from labour Chowk to the Collector’s office in Dausa, culminating in a protest meeting. Speaking on the occasion, AIPWA Jaipur District Secretary Comrade Manjulata said that bastis (settlements) like Ramnagar and Satkar Colony have been in existence for more than two decades but there is lack of basic facilities like drinking water, roads, sewage, education and health.

Gandhi Statue Vandalization in Champaran a Result of RSS Hate Campaign

CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said on 18 February that it is ironical that Mahatma Gandhi's statues are being vandalized in the country in the 75th year of independence. During the past 10 days 3 statues of Mahatma Gandhi have been vandalized in Champaran, the land where he did so much of his work. The administration is trying to whitewash the matter by saying it was done by a 'drunkard'. This is extremely shameful.

AILAJ Organizes Meeting in Patna

The All India Lawyers Association for Justice (AILAJ) organized a meeting in Patna on 20 February attended by lawyers and law students from various Districts of Bihar. AILAJ National Convener Clifton D Rozario attended the meet and said that ever since its inception AILAJ has been at the forefront of concern for the legal fraternity and protecting their interests. The Covid pandemic and lockdown had snatched away the livelihood of lawyers and people connected with the legal fraternity on a large scale.

CPIML Releases Election Manifesto in UP

The CPIML released its election manifesto for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election on 1 February 2022. The manifesto focuses on the issue of employment for youth. It also calls on the voters to defeat the BJP to protect law and order and democracy against the politics of hate.

The manifesto was released simultaneously on 1 February from Varanasi and Lucknow. At Varanasi it was released from a press conference by former State Secretary Ramji Rai and current State Secretary Sudhakar Yadav.
