AISA holds Student Parliament in Delhi against National Education Policy 2020

On 31st May, the All India Students' Association held Student Parliament on Jantar Mantar against the National Education Policy 2020. Students from all over the country and more than 25 Universities joined the Student Parliament raising voice against FYUP, CUET, CBCS and the rampant politics of communal hate in the country by the ruling BJP-RSS.

National Conference of All India Lawyers Association for Justice held at Bengaluru

The All-India Lawyers Association for Justice (AILAJ) held its first National Conference on 28th and 29th May, 2022 at Bengaluru. Delegates from 11 states across the country participated in the same including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Delhi, Assam, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala.

Prof Ravikant Attacked Again

On 17 May AISA and other student organizations and civil society had protested against the violence by ABVP on Lucknow University Professor Ravikant, and demanded strictest action against the guilty persons. Earlier, on the 10th of May Prof Ravikant, an articulate social thinker and ideologue who comes from the Bahujan community, had been violently attacked by the ABVP inside the University campus. During the attack they hurled abusive and undemocratic slogans and gave him death threats.

AICCTU Protests in front of Delhi CM against Mundka Fire Tragedy

AICCTU organized a protest on 20 May in front of the Delhi Chief Minister against the increasing number of industrial accidents in Delhi including the Mundka fire tragedy. AICCTU led workers from various areas of Delhi in a march that culminated in a protest meeting at the barricades near the CM Camp office. AISA also participated in the protest. Earlier, on 17 May AICCTU and other trade union organizations had protested in front of Labour Minister Manish Sisodia's residence against the Mundka fire incident.

Nisha Yadav Justice Front Formed in UP

The CPIML, Bharatiya Kisan Union along with some other organizations have formed the Nisha Yadav ko Nyay Do Manch (Justice for Nisha Yadav Front). The Front has organized a hunger strike and dharna since 14 May 2022 at the District HQ in Chandauli. The hunger strike was commenced by CPIML State Secretary Sudhakar Yadav who sat on a 50-hour hunger strike. BKU Block Secretary Manidev Chaturvedi and leaders of other organizations also sat with him on hunger strike.
