On the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Indian Republic on January 26, CPI(ML) organised Tricolour March across the country to resist ongoing attacks on the Constitution and the values of freedom, equality, and social justice. The march saw the participation of thousands of party workers and citizens, with collective recitations of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution taking place at all event locations.

A public gathering was organised on January 16 in Bagodar Jharkhand marking the 20th anniversary of Comrade Mahendra Singh’s martyrdom. Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya, the CPI(ML) General Secretary, congratulated the people of Jharkhand for inflicting a crushing defeat on the BJP in the state elections, but warned the people that with the BJP in power at the central level, the threat to Jharkhand remains real.

In a significant gathering held in Patna on January 19, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya addressed the Badlo Bihar Samagam (Transform Bihar Conclave), a platform that brought together representatives of social movements, civil society, and ordinary citizens. Dipankar Bhattacharya highlighted the repression accompanying Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s so-called Pragati Yatra (Progress Journey), which he termed a "Yatra of Repression."

A devastating boiler explosion at an illegally operated aluminium factory in Vaini, Samastipur district, has claimed the lives of four workers and left two others critically injured. On January 17, a CPI(ML) investigation team, comprising state committee member and AIARLA Secretary Shatrughan Sahni, AIARLA leader Jivachh Paswan, CPI(ML) district committee member Amit Kumar, and AIARLA district president Upendra Rai, visited the site to assess the situation and interact with locals.

On the night of January 9-10, approximately 100 goons launched a vicious attack on the homes of seven labourer families in Dan Singh Wala village, Bathinda district. The attackers brutally injured several labourers, setting their homes on fire and pouring petrol on their belongings, including beds, mattresses, and trunks. Women and children managed to escape with their lives, but the devastation left the families with nothing.

CPI(ML) Lok Sabha MP from Karakat (Bihar) Comrade Raja Ram Singh, a Standing Committee Member on Labour, Textile, and Skill Development, has written to Labour Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, condemning recent statements by corporate leaders advocating excessively long working hours. Raja Ram Singh highlighted remarks by L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan, who reportedly lamented being unable to enforce Sunday work, and Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, who suggested a 70-hour work week to boost productivity.

Hundreds of displaced Manjhi families staged a one-day protest at Buddha Statue Chowk in Patna on January 13, demanding resettlement after being forcefully evicted from their homes. The protesters raised slogans, criticizing the BJP-Nitish government for failing to provide housing to the poor while displacing marginalized communities in the name of "Smart City" development.

CPI(ML) Mithilanchal in-charge Dhirendra Jha strongly condemned the police oppression of protesters during Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra in Samastipur district in Bihar on January 13. He called on the government to abandon its repressive policies and respect the demands of students-youth.

Condemning the arrest of CPIML and other leaders en route to a loan waiver conference in Uttar Pradesh’ Kushinagar, party state secretary Sudhakar Yadav said that the BJP government under CM Yogi Adityanath is running a police state. He denounced the police's actions as a direct assault on democracy and freedom of expression, likening the crackdown to an undeclared emergency.
