Right to Education Symposium in Bhojpur

THE students and youth of Bhojpur, who have worked constantly for the past 2 years for the right to education of children of the poor through popular programs like ‘Sadak pe School’ and given a new message to the country, recently organized a symposium in Ara on the right to education. The topic of the symposium held in the Radhakrishnan auditorium at Veer Kunwar Singh University was ‘Inequality, Education, and the Constitution’.

AISA National Workshop

A two day workshop was organized by AISA in Bhubaneswar during first week of January 2019. The anti-student-youth education policies and attack on employment in the four and a half years of Modi government’s rule were the key agendas of discussion. A booklet on ‘Jumla Nahin Jawaab do, 5 Saal Ka Hissab do’ (Do not give Jumlas, provide answers accounting for the 5 years) was also launched during the workshop. A call was also given to march against these policies on 7 February 2019, from the Red Fort to the Parliament under the banner of Young India Adhikar March.

Justice for Sanjali

AISA and RYA have called for state wide protests in UP against brutal burning and murder of Sanjali in Agra. Protests were held in many places against this heinous crime demanding resignation of Yogi Adityanath under whose tenure attacks on women and Dalits have increased manifold.

Student Shot inside Ambedkar Hostel in Ara

THE goons armed with rods, batons and firearms, attacked Ambedkar Hostel in Ara on 24 Dec resulting in the shooting of a dalit student Jugesh Kumar whose condition is serious and has been referred to PMCH in Patna. The goons led by one Bharat Yadav snatched a mobile phone of one of the inhabitants of the dalit hostel, when protested by Jugesh they attacked the hostel and shot Jugesh who sustained bullet injury in his spine and is said to be in a critical condition. RYA national president Manoj Manzil immediately rushed to the spot after hearing of the incident.

RYA 6th National Conference --- Hunkar Rally in Varanasi

THE Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA) held its 6th national conference in Varanasi on 15-16 December 2018. Prior to the conference, a huge Hunkar rally attended by thousands of young people was organized at Prime Minister’s Parliamentary constituency. The young people pledged to throw out the Modi government in 2019, as this government has proved a miserable failure on the issues of education and employment. The rally was organized from Cantt Station to Shastri Ghat, resounding with slogans demanding answers from the government on education, employment, and other broken promises.

B.Ed. College Classes Organized on Streets

AISA, RYA, and Chhatra RJD organized ‘Sadak Par B.Ed College’ (B.Ed College on the Street) in front of the Bhojpur DM’s office to protest against the protection to the education mafia by the Nitish-Modi government and the financial exploitation of B.Ed students. Com. Manoj Manzil, CC member of the CPI (ML) also addressed those who had come to attend the programme.

AISA Organizes ‘Chhatraa Samvad’ (Women Students’ Dialogue)

ABOUT 400 women students from different Districts in Bihar participated in a Chhatraa Samvad (Women Students’ Dialogue) organized by AISA at the IMA Hall in Patna on 29 October 2018. At the meeting the women students demanded every freedom including that of education. The participating students included University students as well as a large number of school students.

AISA observes National Protest Day against Rafale Scam in Delhi

AISA called for a national protest day against the Rafale Scam on 26 September. In Delhi the protest was held at Jantar Mantar. The protestors demanded Forensic & Parliamentary Investigation into Rafale Deal. They further demanded that the PM be held answerable for: Loot of Public Exchequer to Benefit His Crony!; Violating All Rules of Defence Purchase & Offset Contract!; and, Compromising Defence Needs and Security!
