The CPIML warmly congratulates workers and trade unions across India for making the call for a General Strike issued by Central Trade Union Organisations a great success. The General Strike was observed in protest against the Four Labour Codes that place millions of workers outside the ambit of labour laws and against rampant privatisation of Public Sector Units.

In an unprecedented move the Delhi State Election Commission (SEC) after calling for a press conference on 9th March called to announce the MCD Elections schedule, stated that the announcement of the dates for MCD elections has been postponed. The SEC said that it has received a communication from the Central Govt through the Lieutenant Governor for postponement of the election till a Bill is passed in the Parliament unifying all the three Corporations of Delhi.

Supreme Court Must Stay Karnataka HC Verdict Which Will Result In Exclusion Of Hijab wearing Muslim Girls From Accessing Education

The Karnataka High Court in its order today has held that wearing of hijab is not essential to the practice of Islam; that College Development Committees (CDCs) have a right to prescribe a uniform; and that Muslim girls must comply with whatever uniform is prescribed by their college.

The Rozgar Adhikar Mahasammelan (Right to Employment Convention) organized by the Rozgar Sangharsh Samyukta Morcha will be held on 9 March 2022 at the Nritya Kala Mandir in Patna. It will be attended by aspirants for more than two dozen recruitments.

Thousands of feminists, democratic groups, collectives, academicians, lawyers and individuals across the walks of life came together to condemn the targeting and exclusion of Hijab wearing Muslim women students reaffirming that Hijab is only the latest pretext to impose apartheid on and attack Muslim women, following on the heels of Hindu supremacists holding multiple “online auctions” of Muslim women and making speeches calling for their sexual and reproductive enslavement.

At a press conference in Patna, women's organizations said that a joint meeting was held on 3 February 2022 to discuss the Gayaghat remand home issue with reference to the statement given by the woman who was freed from the remand home. On the evening of 2 February the woman spoke in detail with representatives of women's organizations. They also got the information that another girl has also made a statement on the issue.

CPIML legislative party leader Mahboob Alam said on 5 February 2022 that the death of 5 migrant workers from Barsoi Block (Katihar District) is extremely tragic and painful. He visited the villages of the workers and consoled the family members. He also met the kin of the injured workers. He is in constant contact with the administration.
