Guest Teachers in Bihar Stage Protest

The guest teachers in Bihar appointed as per UGC criteria in various universities since last seven years have been removed from their posts despite widespread opposition. They staged a protest in front of Bihar Vidhan Sabha on 3 April 2023. These teachers are protesting for the last many days under the banner of Guest Teachers Morcha demanding their absorption on regular posts.

AIPF Convention in Patna

Patna Chapter of All India People’s Forum (AIPF) organised a convention on 4 April in IMA Hall in Patna on ‘Bihar Model of Struggle against Fascism’. This was presided over by renowned educationist Ghalib, and addressed by CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, social activist Sarafraj, Dr. Vidyarthi Vikas of AN Sinha Institute, Patna and AIPWA general secretary Meena Tiwari. AIPF convenor Kamlesh Sharma conducted the proceedings.

Withdraw Anti-labour Changes in NREGA

Rural workers from various districts of Andhra Pradesh staged a protest dharna in Vijayawada on 17 April demanding the repeal of Anti labour changes being brought in NREGA. Addressing the gathering B.Chakradhar, Researcher from Libtek India said that the central government is pressurising the state governments to bring upon the changes in NREGA scheme and Andhra and Telangana both the states have started implementing the changes since November and December 2021 without a single word of protest.

Ram Navami Violence Preplanned by Sangh-RSS to disturb communal harmony: CPIML- AIPWA High Level Team

A high-level team of CPIML and AIPWA visited Bihar Sharif on April 9th to assess the situation after the violence that was unleashed by right-wing goons during Ram Navami festival. The team was prevented by the administration from visiting the area, but after persistent effort, the CPIML-AIPWA team met affected families at the local party office.

New Wage Rates for MGNREGA are Highly Inadequate - AIARLA

The All India Agricultural and Rural Workers Association has termed new wage rates declared by the Modi government for MGNREGA a mockery, demanding its revision at par with other sections of unskilled workers and in accordance with rising prices. Dhirendra Jha, General Secretary of AIRALA, has said that a countrywide campaign is being conducted for highlighting wage and other issues of rural workers.
