Young India Referendum Gives Decisive Verdict Against Modi Regime’s Anti-Student Policies

On February 12, the results of the nation-wide ‘Young India Referendum 2024’ were released at the Press Club of India, Raisina Road. The 'Young India Referendum,' conducted by AISA was aimed to capture the opinions of students and youth to highlight their concerns on education and employment, was conducted in over 60 universities across the country, between February 7th and 9th, 2024. CPIML Activists Convicted in False Case Lodged 29 Years Ago in UP

In a judgement by the sessions court in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh forty people have been convicted, mostly rural landless poor, in a 29 years old case which was filed with vengeance by feudal forces in collusion with local police against CPIML activists who were leading a peaceful movement against the killing of a woman and a minor by the domineering elements in Baluan village. The court has acquitted three persons out of four accused for the murder of two landless villagers. 

ASHA Workers Union on Three-day Protest in Lucknow

A three-day sit-in protest under the leadership of ASHA worker union (AICCTU) was organized in Echo garden in Lucknow from Jan 31 to Feb 2, 2024 in which thousands of ASHA Scheme workers participated from different districts of Uttar Pradesh. The protest demanded for guarantee of health worker status, minimum wages of Rs21,000/pm, PF, ESI, gratuity, social security, maternity leave for ASHA workers as per 45th and 46th Indian Labour Conference recommendations. 

National Conference of All India Municipal and Sanitation Workers Federation

The 3rd all India conference of the All India Municipal and Sanitation Workers was held on 3–4 February 2024 in Bengaluru. As part of the conference, a cultural session was organised, which was attended by hundreds of sanitation workers from Bangalore. 'Porakeya Haadu' (Song of the Broom), a theatrical performance on the lives of sanitation workers was staged, followed by a musical performance by Pragati Kala Tanda.

Young India Referendum 2024 Evokes Enthusiastic Response Across the Country

The three-day Young India Referendum 2024 conducted by All India Students' Association (AISA) in public and private universities across the country has evoked an enthusiastic response. This referendum aims to capture the opinions of students and youth in light of the 2024 general elections. The Referendum, from February 7th and 9th, follows an all-India signature campaign where students and job-seekers posed ten questions to the Modi-led Central Government regarding its ten years in power.
