In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CPI(ML) Liberation MP from Ara (Bihar) and member of Railway Standing Committee, Sudama Prasad, has demanded an immediate and transparent investigation into the recent derailment of the Bengaluru-Kamakhya Superfast Express near Nergundi station in Odisha’s Cuttack district on 30 March. The tragedy, which has once again laid bare the growing crisis in Indian Railways, has prompted renewed calls for accountability, ministerial responsibility, and the safety of millions of passengers.

CPI(ML) has strongly condemned the brutal lathicharge carried out by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on displaced protesters in Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand on 3 April.

Protesting the rising cost of living, CPI(ML) held a protest at Uttarakhand’s Bindukhatta on April 8 carrying empty LPG cylinders to symbolise the crushing burden placed on the poor by the Modi government’s latest price hike. The demonstrators vocally demanded an immediate rollback of the recent Rs. 50 increase in cooking gas (LPG) prices and the Rs. 2 rise in petrol and diesel rates.

The RYA observed a protest day on April 5 against the Waqf Amendment Bill tabled by the Modi government in Parliament. Protest marches were held across several cities and towns, drawing large participation from students, youth, civil rights activists, intellectuals, and concerned citizens.

A CPI(ML) fact-finding team visited Ubhai village in Basti district in Uttar Pradesh where 16-year-old Adarsh Upadhyay was brutally assaulted in police custody, leading to his death. The team met the grieving family and exposed ongoing attempts to shield the guilty officers.

The session began with floral tributes to revolutionary icons Chandra Singh Garhwali, Gaura Devi, Shridev Suman, and Shaheed Comrade Chandrashekhar.

The All-India Students Association (AISA) has strongly condemned the Congress-led Telangana government's decision to auction 400 acres of land belonging to the University of Hyderabad (HCU). This land, home to the iconic Mushroom Rocks, is part of the east campus of the university and is rich in biodiversity, making it an essential part of Hyderabad’s ecosystem.

The CPI(ML) Uttar Pradesh unit has released the findings of a nine-member investigation team into the gang-rape and murder of a 22-year-old Dalit woman at a private hospital in Pratapgarh’s Raniganj region on 27 March. The incident occurred while the victim was on duty, and the investigation highlights the growing violence against women under the Yogi Adityanath-led government.

The Waqf Amendment Bill has been unilaterally brought in by the BJP government to further target the collective identity and dignity of the Muslims in the country. Despite dissent note sent by all opposition members, the Joint Parliamentary Committee has recently adopted the bill. Just like today’s Bulldozer Raj, the Waqf Amendment Bill is being bulldozed on us.
