CPIML March To Bihar Assembly Wins Partial But Significant Resolution on NPR and NRC

ON February 25, thousands of people from Bihar’s villages, especially its most oppressed and poor communities, marched in thousands to the Bihar Assembly in Patna, demanding that the Assembly adopt a resolution against the NPR, NRC and CAA. Braving the rain, the thousands came from all over Bihar to flood Patna streets.

Delhi Initiatives For Peace and Justice

IN the past week, inflammatory statements by BJP leaders like Kapil Mishra stoked communal violence targeting Muslim minorities in Delhi. There has been widespread arson, looting and killing in North East Delhi, especially in the constituencies that the BJP won in the recently held Assembly elections. At least 35 people are said to have lost their lives. While some of the victims are Hindu, including a police constable and an intelligence officer, the majority are Muslim.

Anti-CAA/NRC Protests Continue Countrywide

PROTESTS are taking place across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act where people are coming in in huge numbers in all the towns braving BJP government’s brutal repression and targeting of activists. Almost everywhere protesters are being met with indiscriminate baton charge, water canons, and even bullets were fired in Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi. Large number of para military is deployed but citizens are coming out against the anti-Constitutional and divisive CAA and NRC designs of the ruling BJP.

Punish the Guilty of the Babri Masjid Demolition -- Dismiss Pragya Thakur and Sakshi Maharaj from the Parliament

THE CPIML observed 6 December as the day of countrywide protests to demand that the guilty in the Babri Masjid demolition should be punished without any further delay. The demolition of the Babri Masjid on 6 December 1992 by vicious communal elements and the aftermath of the demolition have dealt a severe blow to the composite culture of India and the foundations of our secular democratic Republic. Now on 9 November 2019 the Supreme Court has pronounced its verdict in the Babri Masjid land ownership dispute case.

Countrywide Protests Against Citizenship Amendment Bill

AS soon as the Citizenship Amendment Bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha and passed after a hastily conducted debate, people started protesting against this most fatal blow of Modi government to the Constitution of India. These protests are likely to continue in coming weeks as many organisations have declared their resolve to oppose this Bill tooth and nail and non-cooperation of the finally enacted law if Modi government succeeds in getting it passed by the Rajya Sabha.

Rape And Murder Of A Veterinarian Doctor In Hyderabad

THE rape and murder of a veterinarian doctor in Hyderabad, and a spate of other rapes and murders of women and girls all over India have once again sparked protests all over India.

AIPWA issued a call for a countrywide protest on 3 December, and organised protests in Patna, Kolkata, Varanasi, Lucknow, Udaipur, Jaipur and many other places. In Delhi and Patna, AIPWA joined other women's groups in organising the protests.

Protest March against Sugouli Boiler Blast Incident

BIHAR Rajya Vidyalaya Rasoiya Sangh, AICCTU, AIPWA and CPIML organized a protest march in Patna on 19 November 2019 against the Nitish-BJP government on the issue of the Sugouli boiler blast incident. 4 Mid-day Meal workers had died in Sugauli of East Champaran when a boiler, being used in mid-day meal preparation, exploded. The march started from Buddha Smriti Park, Patna Junction and culminated in a meeting at the Midday Meal Scheme Head Office.

Release Students and Youth Arrested in Sasaram Who Protested Privatization of Railways

18 students and youth have been arrested in Sasaram during the struggle against privatization of the Railways. A team comprising CPIML CC member and RYA President Manoj Manzil, AISA State Secretary Sabir Kumar, Bhojpur RYA Convener Shiv Prakash Ranjan, Sasaram District Secretary Bablu Kumar, Shiv Shankar Singh Kushwaha, Shiv Shankar Ram, and Rashtriya Ambedkar Kalyan Chhatrawas leader Jyoti Kumar visited Sasaram and met the protesters in the Central Jail in Gaya on 30 October.
