Protest Demonstration

IN response to the call given by the CPIML Azamgarh unit, protests were held all across the District on 19 August 2020 against the killing of a Dalit Pradhan as well as consistent attacks on dalits, women and minorities and the police-criminal nexus that enjoys protection from the ruling powers. A memorandum was submitted to the Governor at the conclusion of the protests.

Armed organized dominant caste Rajputs lethally attacked a dalit-poor Tola in Anchha village at Daudnagar, Aurangabad on 21 August 2020 with the intent of perpetrating a massacre. CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal strongly condemned the attack in which 6 persons were seriously injured and are admitted in PMCH.

CPIML and All India Kisan Mahasabha observed 14 August 2020 as a day of protest across the country for the release of CPIML CC member and AIKMS National Secretary Assam youth leader Balindra Saikia and against the witch hunt of AIKMS National Secretary and Viplavi Kisan Sandesh Editor Purushottam Sharma whom the Delhi Police detained at the Thana for 8 hours and interrogated with the intent of falsely implicating him in the Delhi riots.

Freedom from Debt Day observed

Responding to the call given by AIPWA and Self Help Groups Sangharsh Samiti, Freedom from Debt Day was observed across Bihar on 13 August 2020.

Responding to the call given by farmers’ organizations affiliated to the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee and 10 Central trade unions, lakhs of farmers and workers across the country protested on 9 August 2020 against the Modi government’s pro-corporate policies and intent to sell off the country’s national assets.

Farmers raised the following demands:

The Bihar government is underestimating the horror and extent of the floods just as it has underestimated the Corona crisis, jeopardizing crores of lives. It is a matter of great shame that despite the so-called double-engine government in Bihar no solution has been found to the flood problem. In fact, the floods have become a huge means of corruption for politicians and bureaucrats. The fate of the Sattar Ghat Bridge is the most recent example of this organized corruption.
