Adivasi leaders associated with various organisations have demanded from the Jharkhand government for a separate Sarna religion code in view of BJP-Sangh conspiracy of communalizing Sarna population.
CPIML and Adivasi Sangharsh Morcha supported the Adivasis' demand for a separate Sarna religion code stating that the adivasis for long have kept their faith and socio-cultural-religious tradition unbroken along with interaction and peaceful co-existence with followers of different faiths. The BJP-Sangh wants to use the Adivasi community as communal fodder for their vested communal political ends. The Adivasi community will not allow this Sanghi project to succeed. The RSS-BJP claim that Sarna is part of the Sanatan dharm of Hindus is baseless and imaginary. The caste system is the basis for the Hindu religion. The Adivasi socio-religious system is free from this. Moreover, followers of the Sarna faith are also free from caste violence, violence against women, and fanaticism. Through the conspiracy to Hinduise the Sarna faith, the BJP-Sangh want to spread communal frenzy in Adivasi states and regions and also want to weaken Adivasis' right to reservation in the future.
CPIML leaders Manoj Bhakt, State Secretary, Vinod Singh, CPIML MLA and Devki Nandan Bediya, Jharkhand State Convener, Adivasi Sangharsh Morcha through a memorandum have requested the Jharkhand Governor to make positive interventions for a separate Sarna religion code.
