CPI(ML) leader Comrade Rajkishore Rajan passed away suddenly on the night of 11 January 2019. As soon as the news of his untimely demise came, Party cadres became immersed in grief. Comrade Rajan became associated with the Party in 1984 at the young age of 15, and very soon began playing a leading role at the local level. He became a member of the Party in 1986 and in 1988 he became the Bhagalpur District convener of the student organization ABSU, and a member of the 7-member District level Party Core Committee. He played an important role in the development, expansion, and strengthening of the Party. He later joined the BSF. Even while working, he remained a member of the Party. He was discharged from the Army after being seriously wounded during a terrorist encounter in Kashmir. As soon as he returned home in 2004, he turned all his energies to working for the Party and was elected the Tintenga Local Committee Secretary. However, ill-health dogged him and his health deteriorated steadily. Despite this, he participated actively in all Party programs. On the night of 1 January he became so ill that he could not even be taken to hospital. He breathed his last on that night. He is survived by his wife and three young children.
Comrade Rajan’s final journey began in the afternoon of 12 January from his home at Tintenga Diyara (Rangra Block) in the presence of CPI(ML) State Committee member and AICCTU National Vice President SK Sharma, District Secretary Bindeshwari Mandal, AICCTU State Secretary Mukesh Mukt, City Secretary Suresh Prasad, and dozens of Party leaders and activists, grief-stricken family members, and hundreds of women and men from the village.
Red Salute to Comrade Rajkishore Rajan!
