ON 20 September 2018 the CPI(ML) Raebareli District organized a march from Vikas Bhavan to the Collector’s office and submitted a memorandum to the Collector in protest against inaction by the police and failure to arrest the culprits guilty of the rape of a dalit girl child in Naseerabad Thana even though a whole month has passed after the incident. Members of the victim’s family and local people joined the march.
Addressing the meeting in front of the Collector’s office, CPI (ML) leader and Insaf Manch President Com. Vijay Vidrohi Advocate said that the Yogi government has proved to be the worst so far in the matter of safety for women, especially children and dalits. It is useless to expect justice from the Yogi government, keeping in view that the rape-accused BJP MLA in the Bangarmau incident has not yet been expelled from the party. He said that incidents of rape are on the increase in Rae Bareli, with instances in Lalganj and Naseerabad and now the rape of the dalit minor girl in Salon, and the police is protecting the guilty by not arresting them. After agitations by the public, the accused in the Lalganj sexual violence-murder case was arrested, but he came out of jail in just 2 months due to the laxity of the police.
Ram Samujh Pandey (Pradhan of village Poore Rai) said that the entire area is outraged by this atrocity on the minor girl, and we have all come to the Naseerabad Thana to demand the arrest of the guilty.
