Ramashray Prasad Singh passed away on 16 June 2018 at his residence in Begusarai. He was 72. He was associated with the students’ movement of 1966-67 as one of the prominent leaders of SFI and with the onset of the decade of the 70s he became closely associated with the Naxalite movement. Later he remained active with the Civil Liberties’ movements and also regularly published a magazine ‘Manavadhikaar’ (Civil Liberties). He played an important role in strengthening of the PUCL in Bihar and was a consistent warrior against human rights violations always at the forefront. He had played an unforgettable role in fighting the cases of comrades of Naxalite movement as well as for their rights and release from jail. We pay our sincere tributes to him.
