A CPI(ML) team led by Manoj Manzil, campaigning in an area of Bhojpur where Muslim minorities live, for the Oust BJP, Save Democracy rally which will be held on September 27, was attacked by the BJP-supported feudal leader Kamalnarayan Singh and his men. They even tied a Mahadalit youth Naveen Kumar to a pole and beat him up, subjecting him to anti-Dalit abuse and threatening to burn him alive, when he tried to protect Manoj Manzil from their attack. As word spread about the attack, hundreds of people gathered and gheraoed the Narayanpur police station demanding the arrest of Kamalnarayan Singh, and freeing of Naveen Kumar who was still being held captive. The feudals were forced to free Naveen when the protesters approached.
