The law and order situation in Bihar has completely collapsed. Criminals operate with impunity, mobs lynch innocents, and the government remains a mute spectator. CPI(ML) Bihar State Secretary Kunal has stated that the state government has entirely failed to maintain governance. The BJP’s politics of hate is fuelling riots and violence across the state.
On the night of 17 March, a horrific mob lynching took place in Ramauli village, Beniabad police station area of Muzaffarpur. A young man, Kamlesh Sahni, was brutally beaten to death by a mob on mere suspicion of cattle theft. This reflects the murderous mentality of mob rule and the sheer negligence of the government.
Meanwhile, in Patna, Dr Surbhi Kushwaha, a female doctor, was shot dead in broad daylight inside her clinic. In Bhagalpur, a close relative of Union Minister and BJP leader Nityanand Rai was brutally murdered. In Siwan, three minor girls have reportedly gone missing from a shelter home.
“This series of recent criminal incidents shows that the government is sleeping, while criminal-feudal elements are emboldened,” said Kunal.
CPI(ML) Fact-Finding Team Visits Muzaffarpur
On 22 March, a CPI(ML) fact-finding team led by RYA National President Aftab Alam visited Kamlesh Sahni’s ancestral village of Dhanour, Katra (Muzaffarpur). The team met the victim’s mother, Parmila Devi, and his 10-year-old son, Ritesh Kumar. Kamlesh was the sole breadwinner of the family; his wife had already passed away, leaving the family completely destitute. The delegation included Advocate Mukesh Paswan, Hardev Ram, Pramukh Ram, Brajkishore Sahni, Shahid, and several others.
CPI(ML) demands immediate compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the victim’s family. The government must take full responsibility for the education of the victim’s child and provide a government job for one family member. A high-level judicial investigation must be conducted, and the strictest punishment, including the death penalty, must be given to those responsible.
CPI(ML) calls upon the people of Bihar to overthrow this murderous, incompetent, and hate-driven BJP-Nitish government in the upcoming elections. It is time to ensure justice, security, and peace in Bihar.
