Against the Demolition of Houses

Hundreds of poor families have been made homeless by a construction company’s bulldozers in Jainagar town of Madhubani district. The contractor bulldozed houses without any administrative notice or order for constructing a road. CPIML has demanded proper rehabilitation of all evictees immediately.

Most of these families belong to dalit and minority communities. The said firm, Mateshwari Constructions, in complicity with some local goons flattened the houses leaving many people injured, one of them Aisha Khatoon has got a fracture in her leg. Many activists held a sit-in protest on 18 June and sent a memorandum to the district administration demanding immediate rehabilitation of all displaced families.
