CPIML's former MLA from Agiaon, Comrade Manoj Manzil, was granted bail from Patna High Court on Monday. In the Badgaon case, the district court had convicted Comrade Manoj and 22 others to life imprisonment on February 13th and subsequently, he was disqualified as the MLA. An appeal against this order was made before the Patna High Court.
CPIML General Secretary Comrade Dipankar said, "Comrade Manoj's bail will give a big boost to the battle for dethroning the fascist Modi regime and ensuring a decisive victory for INDIA candidates in Shahabad and Magadh. We shall fight, we shall win!"
Welcoming the order of the Patna High Court, CPIML Bihar Secretary Comrade Kunal expressed hope that the remaining 22 comrades will also be granted bail at the earliest and that justice will be met.
Comrade Manoj Manzil has been granted bail, however, a stay on the order of the lower court is pending and the application for the same has been made before the court.
Comrade Kunal hoped that the High Court would decide on the stay application without further delay and that justice will be met, especially since the by-poll in Agiaon constituency is on-going.
