On December 30, hundreds of construction workers under the banner of the Bihar Rajya Construction Workers Union and AICCTU protested against the conspiracy of the Labor Department and the Construction Workers Welfare Board to cancel their registration. The protest also condemned the attempt by Modi-BJP regime to dilute the construction workers welfare boards across the country.
Ranvijay, State Secretary of the union said that decision by the labour department to suddenly shift to total online process for the registration to the construction welfare and putting a cut-off date for this is arbitrary and anti-worker. This move excludes thousands of workers who had filed their registration process offline. Even if the labour board want to shift towards online mode, such cut-off date is clearly a part of conspiracy to snatch the rights of construction workers.
Addressing the workers, CPIML MLA Sandeep Saurav said that the attempts to cancel the registration of workers and dilute welfare boards is part of larger conspiracy by BJP regime to give away the billions of rupees in these boards for capitalists. He demanded that the labor department must immediately revoke the cut-off date issued for online registration. He added that CPIML stands steadfast with the demands of the construction workers.
