CPIML ranks and files across the country paid their homage to Comrades Jauhar (Subrat Dutt), Ratan and Nirmal on their 48th martyrdom anniversary on 29 November 2023. In Patna, the program was organised at CPIML Bihar State Office. CPIML General Secretary Com. Dipankar paying tributes to the martyrs said that their revolutionary legacy continues to inspire and guide our struggle against today’s unbridled emergency and fascist assault by Modi government.
As the General Secretary of the party leading the reorganised Central Committee of CPIML from 28 July 1974 to 29 November, 1975, Com. Jauhar had laid the foundation of revolutionary peasant upsurge in Bhojpur and adjoining districts of Central Bihar.
Com. Kunal, Bihar State Secretary said that in a period of immense crisis, marred by increasing state repression, Com. Jauhar steadfastly accepted the responsibility and transformed the plains of Bhojpur and Patna into citadels of revolution.
The three, who were leaders of the anti-feudal farmers’ struggles in Bhojpur inspired by the Naxalbari movement, attained martyrdom on 29 November 1975 while resisting a police attack at Bihar’s Babubandh (Charpokhri).
