CPIML, extending its solidarity with the ongoing protest of candidates who are victims of UP teacher recruitment reservation scam said that the government must ensure justice without delay. CPIML condemning the silence of Yogi government said that thousands of candidates are continuously organising protest demonstrations at Eco Garden, Lucknow against the scam in 69,000 teacher recruitment, but the government is refusing to listen to demands of the victims.
In a statement issued on November 29, the state unit of CPIML said that the government refusing to take responsibility for the scam is punishing these young candidates, who are entitled to get appointment. Due to the insensitivity of the government, the scam victims have been forced to take to the streets. Many a times, the victims had to face the police brutality.
The National Backward Commission in a report on April 29, 2021 noted that there was a reservation scam in the recruitment of 69,000 teachers and sent a letter to the UP government. In its letter, it said that the candidates affected by the scam should be given appointment letters and action should be taken against those who are guilty. Despite this, no credible action had been taken by the government even after more than 526 days have passed since the scam.
CPIML noted that it is clear that the BJP government does not want to implement SC-OBC Reservation but wants to abolish it. The Yogi-BJP government is only interested in implementing EWS i.e. upper caste reservation.
