Three Congress MLAs Arrested With Cash in Kolkata

Stop BJP from Crushing Democracy in Jharkhand, Expose the Persons Implicated in Horse-trading

In the Monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly during discussion on the drought, CPIML MLA Vinod Singh raised the issue of the 3 Congress MLAs arrested in Kolkata. He said that this deed of the MLAs has lowered the dignity of the House. It is a matter of dignity for the House and concrete action should be taken against such MLAs. He requested the Speaker to take action against MLAs who indulge in such deeds and said that an enquiry should be conducted into the entire matter.

Vinod Singh was the only MLA inside Jharkhand Assembly who stood up to raise this issue. The recovery of huge stashes of cash from the vehicles of 3 Congress MLAs in Jharkhand points to a deep political conspiracy. Incidents of horse-trading of MLAs have occurred in the state earlier also. The state government should expose the persons implicated in horse-trading and take strict action against the MLAs involved. The people of Jharkhand want to know who are the actual persons hidden behind this whole game. The Speaker of the Assembly should take prompt and legitimate action in this matter.

In a joint statement CPIML Jharkhand Secretary Manoj Bhakt and Vinod Singh said that the BJP is adopting horse-trading on the lines of what it did in Maharashtra in order to throttle the people's mandate in Jharkhand. This is being called Operation Lotus. The cross-voting in Jharkhand during the Presidential election could also well be connected with this matter. This aspect should also be looked into during the enquiry into the matter. All central agencies are in the hands of the BJP and some BJP leaders have declared material found by the ED even before the ED declares it. It is ironical that today they are asking the Congress instead of the central agencies.

After suffering defeat in the last election the BJP has been trying its best to punish the people of the state and come back to power through horse-trading of MLAs. The BJP wants to form a government in Jharkhand through the back door and hand over the state's forest, land, water and minerals to corporate houses. On the occasion of the 75th year of Independence the CPIML appeals to people to defeat the BJP conspiracy to crush democracy in Jharkhand.
