Leader of CPIML legislative party in Bihar Mahboob Alam has demanded speedy trial and strict punishment for the guilty persons in the Manehur (Pastiya village, Naya Tola, Azamnagar Thana) abduction, gangrape and murder case. He met the DG Bihar Police on 4 June 2022 in this connection and apprised him of all the details.
Comrade Mahboob said that the anger of the local people against this shameful incident is natural. Taking advantage of this some anti-social elements vandalized the Salmari Thana, providing the Thana with an excuse to file a case against 53 named and 300-400 unknown persons including people's representatives, political activists and even the parents, brother and relatives of the Mahenur deceased victim. Mahboob Alam appealed to the DG Police to enquire into this and withdraw charges against all innocent persons.
AIPWA organized a protest march on 4 June in Patna to demand speedy trial and strict punishment for the Mahenur perpetrators, dismissal of the Azamnagar Thana chief, and withdrawal of all false cases against political and social activists. The march started from Chhajjubagh and culminated in a meeting at the Radio Station. The march was led by AIPWA leaders Meena Tiwari, Saroj Chaube, Shashi Yadav, Anita Sinha, Madhu, Samta Rai, Asma Khan, Nasreen Bano, Anuradha Devi, Rakhi Mehta, Abida Khatoon and attended by a large number of women activists.
