Strongly opposing the conspiracy in Patiala by a communal gang to vitiate the communal harmony and peace in Punjab, the CPIML has demanded that the Punjab government should tightly rein in such provocative communal elements.

The CPIML Punjab unit issued a statement on 30 April 2022 that ever since the Modi-led BJP government came to power, goon brigades associated with the RSS under various names are targeting minorities and dalits under various excuses. In a similar pattern, a group associated with the Shiv Sena conspired to break Punjab's peace and communal harmony under cover of an anti-Khalistani protest. Despite there not being any issue about Khalistan and terrorism today, these extremist elements protesting with weapons in their hands did the dastardly act of inciting communal violence and riots. The party has appealed to the Sikh community not to be provoked but face these handful of rioters. Punjab has a healthy communal unity and harmony and most people here want no truck with such hate-mongers.

The statement further said that the Sangh parivar and Modi government are very angry that the farmers' movement led by Punjab farmers forced the government to repeal the three farm laws. These fascist forces are also looking to take revenge on Punjab for the recent electoral drubbing. That is why they, with the Godi media, are continuously hatching conspiracies to defame the people of Punjab as Naxalites and Khalistanis. Recent events have shown that the BJP is targeting minorities in various states including Karnataka, MP, Delhi, West Bengal and Kerala in order to implement its fascist agenda. The statement appealed to the people of Punjab to fight and defeat this 'Divide and Rule' policy with communal harmony and unity. The party has also called for a joint campaign by democracy-loving social and political organizations to protect Punjab and foil the dangerous conspiracies of these saffron riot-mongers.
